Features to know about

Eliminate Rear-End Sag and Squat: 6,000-lb Load Support

Heavy loads in the bed or a trailer on the hitch can make the rear drop and the front lift, throwing off steering and braking. The Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System adds up to 6,000 lbs of support above the rear axle to keep your vehicle level under load. The hollow rubber springs stiffen progressively as weight increases, helping maintain a steady ride height and improving overall handling while towing or hauling.

Smooth Out Rough Roads: Hollow Rubber Springs Absorb Shock

Bumps, potholes, and rough job sites can beat up your suspension and make for a harsh ride. Timbren’s Aeon hollow rubber springs take the hit first, acting as shock absorbers that cushion impacts before they reach the frame. They help prevent bottoming out when loaded, reduce wear on leaf springs, and give you a smoother, more stable ride when you’re hauling gear or towing heavy trailers.

Reduce Sway and Body Roll: Independent Spring Action

Sharp corners, uneven loads, or gusty crosswinds can throw your truck off balance. Each Timbren spring works independently to support its side of the vehicle, cutting down body roll and sway when turning or swerving. That independent action also keeps off-center loads steady and helps trailers track straighter on the highway.

Simple DIY Install: Bolt-On Design with No Air Lines

Getting extra suspension support doesn’t have to mean running air hoses or wiring compressors. This system bolts directly to existing frame points in place of your factory bump stops—no drilling required. Each kit includes two Aeon hollow rubber springs with custom brackets and hardware for a straightforward setup you can handle in your own driveway.

Very easy installation using videos as a guide.

by:

This is much easier than dealing with air bags that need inflating/deflating. Great product.

by:

Installed very quickly on a 95 Dodge Ram 2500. Our truck has a dump insert so it is easy to make the truck squat. With the Timbren kit the truck is 1-3/4" inches higher with a full load.

by:

Timbren Suspension EnhancementProduct was exactly as it was described. Arrived to me on time. Was very easy to install only took about 15 minutes to install them. Bought a new 7 by 16 trailer to tow with my Dodge Ram 1500. Improved the ride and got rid of the rough bouncing that uneven roads produce. Would recommend to anyone who hauls things with there truck on a regular basis.

by:

Works great!

by:

These are the perfect replacement for bump stops on my 2001 2500 Dodge. Quality pieces at a great price from etrailer!

by:

The Timbren rear ES work great. They do not effect the ride of the vehicle until the vehicle is loaded. It took me 20 minutes to install on my 2007 Dodge Ram 1500. Etrailer shipped fast A+ company.

by:

ordered over the phone and got a very nice lady that was very helpful. was feeling like crap so took a few days to open box up and found out only half was there no bolts only one top mounting piece and only one rubber spring part. but i got two big rubber washer things

by:

VERY easy to install. Just remove the old axle stops and screw these in. I had air springs in my old tow vehicle and they were a pain. These are the way to go if you are looking for suspension support.

Product fit as advertised and Etrailer again was a pleasure to do business with!

Still works great, glad I made the investment

by:

These are fantastic and I would highly recommend them. I placed these on my 1995 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins after I put my slide in camper on. It eliminated almost all of the body roll and tightened the suspension up progressively . Very good product and easy to install.

by:

Installation would have been a snap, had I not had to deal with rusted bolts on a 12 year old Dodge Ram1500! For those who are thinking of installing these on older vehicles, get CRC Freeze-Off. It helped with 3 of the 4 bumpstop bolt...because of impatience, I broke one off. I tried drilling out the broken bolt, but it was getting dark and I wanted to be done. So, I just broke out the welder and put a couple of beads on it! I have yet to take it on the road loaded with the ATV while pulling a camper but I am sure it will work well. I bought this because I saw reviews and pictures of those who installed it to eliminate squat on their 1500's while pulling a 5th wheel. My application will be a lot less! Great stuff Etrailer!

by:

Installed on a 1996 Ram 2500 and it helped tremendously towing my dump trailer. The truck is a little more bouncy unloaded now but I do not mind.

I am still very pleased with the product! I tow 5 ton of stone in my dump trailer and it dramatically reduced, sway and squat in the truck. I recommend these over the air ride version because I did not want to cut my fender liner for those.

by:

I’ve had the Timbren suspension enhancement system for a year now on my ‘99 Dodge 1500 4x4. I purchased this product because I had to tow my bumper pull three horse trailer from South Carolina to N. Central Montana. With a camper top, the bed loaded and the trailer loaded the truck sagged really bad. With the Timbrens on the sag went away completely. Making for a much safer less stressful experience while towing.

by:

These make excellent additions to any truck that plans on towing a travel trailer or heavy boat. I have a fairly light travel trailer (4500 lbs) but all the additional gear and water, propane, etc adds up quick. Before I installed these on my 2008 Dodge Ram I was not very comfortable towing everything, especially up a steep hill. I could feel a lot of play in the steering wheel from rear sagging so much. I installed these before my next trip and it took me about 30 minutes. There were existing rubber springs but not nearly as long. I was able to reuse the nuts from these so I did saved myself from threading the new ones through the frame. If you are on the fence because of the price, do not hesitate to get these.

by:

I'll admit I was a bit skeptical at first at how well these would work, but I wanted my truck to ride a bit more level when loaded. I am a firm believer in simpler is better, and the Timbren system seemed pretty simple. Installation was a breeze, the hardest part was unbolting the factory bump stops to add the Timbrens, as age had rusted the bolts a bit. Once I got the old bump stops out, installation was simple and straightforward, taking maybe 45 minutes total using only hand tools. You have a choice to use the Timbrens alone, or to add little spacers behind them, for greater load assistance. I chose not to use them because I rarely load my truck to the max; I only wanted a little help with the occasional heavy load and didn't want to sacrifice ride quality.
I would say 90% of the time, I am unaware they are even there, except that the truck rides much more level with a heavy load, and with less 'sway' on uneven roads. Empty ride is unaffected, fully loaded ride feels the same, just with less rear end squat. Partial loads give a slightly firmer ride, enough to notice but without being objectionable.
Easy installation, zero problems/issues after a year, and almost no effect in ride quality. Factor in easy installation and a reasonable price, and I give a 5 star rating. Fully satisfied for the price.

by:

As always, etrailer processed and shipped my order expeditiously and it arrived in great shape. Upon installation, I thought that I may have ordered the incorrect size, but a quick chat with the Timbren rep and some more careful measuring allayed those fears. With an empty bed, the Timbrens are not engaged and allow the stock suspension to operate as designed. With the camper loaded, the Timbrens are preloaded and prevent the rear of the truck from sagging and significantly reduced the feeling of a light front end. Truck drives better and maintains a good level stance. While air bags may be better at tuning how level, the Timbrens are less expensive and don't require the plumbing and compressed air. Simple and effective.

by:

I bought these to help improve he ride of my tow vehicle 02 ram 2500 4x4 while towing my fifth wheel. They had the exact opposite effect. Took all he suspension travel out of rear of he truck when I hooked up. Had on for less than 1 trip. Took off at the campground. Would not buy again. Can not recommend.

The Timbren Aeon springs work best on vehicle suspensions that are in good repair. If the shocks or leaf springs on the vehicle are worn, the springs wont perform as designed.

by:

They fit perfect on my 95 ram 2500.

by:

When there is a trailer in the bed it rides rough when hitting bumps. But with the bed empty it rides nice.

by:

These work perfectly for my multiple trucks and trailer with loads. A bit stiff if hitting bumps such as going over speed bumps or onto/off of uneven bridges with uneven surface but all in all work as they should.

Absolutely EXCELLENT!! A must have for my uses.

by:

Highly recommend for anyone towing. Leaf springs were flattened out prior to install. Swapped the bump stops out for Timbrens in a campground before making a 1000+ mile trip home. They work amazing leveled the truck out while towing and absorb the bad bumps.

I would absolutely buy the Timbren SES again if I didn’t already have them. No issues after a year.

by:

I bought the timbren SES 121474110. I am not really satisfied with how these helped my trucks towing stance. The truck tows the same. I carry an in bed tank with 50 gallons of fuel in addition to the 35 gallon fuel tank from factory. The truck rides the timbrens the whole time. Thats okay, my problem is that the truck squats the same amount with these when I hook up my car trailer. The truck still goes straight down to the load leaves (pretty heavily squatted) the same as before. Did I get a light duty version? dont feel these meet the 6,000 Ibs capaticy as advertized. I think I should have gotten air bags. The product was well made. so they still get 2 stars. Just not what I thought it should have been.

I would say with the load you have in that truck bed, you definitely put them to the test Clark! Glad we had the right fit for you!

by:

A very simple and straightforward installation once you get the oem bumper stops off (had a shop do that)
Timbren worked with me as I had a non OEM frame height (vehicle was lower than stock) to recommend the proper kit. Highly recommend contacting timbren if you are unsure of the proper kit to use. Ride is more stable. It does feel stiffer and less bouncy but am looking forward to seeing how it performs with my truck camper. Truck is a 1998 dodge ram 2500. Brake line over left side of axle needed to be secured to prevent damage.

Hi there, thanks for reaching out, that’s actually a common issue with this type of trim. The one you tried is a standard flat insert, but some RVs (like your NOBO) use a slightly domed trim to help it sit over the screw heads in the track. If the screws stick up even a little, a flat trim won’t fully snap in place, which sounds like what you’re running into. The best way to find the right replacement is to remove a small piece of your original trim, lay it flat, and measure the full width from edge to edge. Most are either 3/4" or 1", but the shape matters too, not just the width. If yours has that domed profile, you’ll want something similar or a softer vinyl that can flex over the screws. If you’re able to send a quick photo of your track or old trim, I’d be happy to help you find a better match.

  • Suspension Enhancement Recommendation for 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 with 5th Wheel Rail Kit

Hey Zak thanks for the picture! The Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System item # TDR1525H4 is going to be the best option for leveling out the rear end of your Ram 1500. The added weight of that truck bed camper is really going to push the suspension down so the 6,000 lbs capacity springs will definitely address that. When you're not loaded down you shouldn't notice them but that'll depend on how old your truck's springs are. If you have any additional questions feel free to throw...

  • Why Is There No Gap Between The Frame And Timbren SES Kit On A 1994 Dodge Ram 1500
Hi Chet, Timbren SES kits like the # TDR1525H4 and # TDF25004B you installed should have a 1/2" to 1-1/2" gap. If they do not then your factory suspension is going to need to be upgraded/replaced. The coil springs and shocks are likely worn too much to support the weight, causing the vehicle to sag down enough for the Timbren's to engage. I would look into getting your shocks and coil springs replaced to help create a gap between them and the bump stop plates. Both of the Timbren kits...
